Veterinarians
Dr. Ajay Madaan
Veterinarian
After graduating from the University of Missouri, I began practicing veterinary medicine in 2006. In 2012 I moved to Orange County, NY, after joining Hamptonburgh Animal Hospital. I pride myself on making every effort to ensure that clients are well-informed and able to make the best decision for their pets. There is no greater satisfaction for me than seeing a sick pet feeling better and back to enjoying life with its family. In my free time, I love to spoil my pets. I have one handsome but “thick” cat and one very silly, playful pup. My favorite time of day is sitting on the couch unwinding with my 4-legged family. My children often complain that I am a much more lenient pet dad than a human dad.
Dr. Douglas Tuthill
Veterinarian
I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Orange County, NY. After serving in Vietnam, I graduated from Washingtonville High School and later Cornell University with my DVM. My love of animals was instilled at a young age on the farm and has continued throughout my entire veterinary career. I began my veterinary career as a large animal vet serving the farmers of Orange County. As the need presented, I started treating their housepets; as the market continued to grow, I opened the first Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital in Goshen, NY, which later developed into Hamptonburgh Animal Hospital in Campbell Hall, NY.
Dr. Nancy M. Kennedy
Veterinarian
I began practicing medicine in 2006 after graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. My love of animals started at an early age. Before vet school, I could often be training and showing Chesapeake Bay Retrievers multiple championship and obedience titles. My passion in practice is both preventative and behavioral medicine. I strive to help promote longevity and enhance the human-animal bond between clients and their pets. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and quilting.
Dr. Shereen Toufils
Veterinarian
Dr. Toufils is a dedicated veterinarian committed to providing the best medical care for your beloved pets. She earned her veterinary degree in 2002 from Cairo University, and since graduation, she has specialized in large animal medicine. Since 2017, she has started training for small animal medicine across states such as Colorado, Missouri, and Florida and now practices small animal medicine in New York. Dr. Toufils also loves to spend her free time with her husband and two children hiking on Orange County’s stunning trails. Whenever she has time, she enjoys vacationing in different parts of the country, her favorite places being Florida and California.
Leadership
Eddie P.
Practice Manager
I joined the Hamptonburgh team in 2013 as a veterinary assistant after working and volunteering at the Hudson Valley SPCA for many years. I have always loved animals and knew from a very young age that some aspect of veterinary medicine would be my career. I worked as an assistant to the vets for seven years, doing whatever was needed, from holding pets to assisting with procedures, answering phones, and scheduling appointments. In 2019, I was asked to manage the practice with my co-manager, Erica. Together we do everything, from running the hospital to assisting the vets with surgery and in the room- we are an unstoppable team.
Erica M.
Practice Manager
I joined the Hamptonburgh team in 2012 as a veterinary assistant after being in the veterinary/husbandry field since 1995 and obtaining a B.S. in Psychology and Animal Behavior from Hollins University in 2003. I have always loved animals and science, and I knew from the start I would make it my career. Over the years, I have done everything, from answering phones and filling prescriptions to assisting the vets with everything from exams to x-rays and surgeries. In 2019, I was asked to manage the practice with my co-manager Eddie. Together we do it all, from running the hospital from top to bottom to assisting the vets in the room and surgery. We are a team that cannot be beaten.
Veterinary Assistants
Madeleine B.
Veterinary Assistant
I joined the Hamptonburgh team in 2015 but have been in the veterinary field since 2002. Born and raised in Germany, I was already an animal lover as a child, and at 16 decided to get my degree as a Veterinary assistant. I had stayed in the field since, including when I moved to the United States. I enjoy my job- especially interacting with the owners; educating them and ensuring their pet is in good hands. I pride myself on being able to handle most of our patients, even those that become a little more fractious at the vet. It gives me great satisfaction to see a sick pet feel better. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my dogs. My family and I enjoy showing, agility and dock diving with our Australian Shepherds as well as hiking and teaching them tricks.
Shelia M.
Veterinary Assistant
I joined the Hamptonburgh team in 2020 after studying Veterinary Science Technology at SUNY Ulster. I always look forward to helping pets live long and healthy lives by educating owners with the correct information to make the best decisions for their pets. I love ensuring our patients have a pleasant experience while at the vet by treating them with care and compassion as if they were my own. When not working with patients, I enjoy hiking, the gym, trying new restaurants, and spending time with my ferret, Benji.
Angelina S.
Veterinary Assistant
I joined the Hamptonburgh team in October 2020. I attended SUNY Delhi and SUNY Ulster for Veterinary Technology Science and am working on becoming a licensed veterinary technician. I believe client education is of the utmost importance, especially when keeping their pets happy and healthy. I am always glad to answer questions from clients or coworkers, from simple to complex; if I don’t know the answer, I’m happy to research to find it out. In my free time, I can often read a book or at the gym and enjoy spending time with family and friends on my days off.

Christina M.
Senior CSR
I am originally from Massachusetts and have been in the veterinary field for about ten years, and I love it. I am one of the lead CSRs here and love my job. I have a pit bull mix (who thinks he is a cat) named Kelo that I rescued from the Hudson Valley SPCA, who is my whole world. I love to crochet and spend time with my Kelo and my Mom in my spare time. I love seeing all the animals in our hospital; I treat them like my own. I would not trade this job for anything in the world!
Pat T.
Senior CSR
I have worked in the veterinary field for over 30 years and, in that time, have done everything from answering the phones and scheduling appointments to cleaning cages and mopping floors. My love of animals came naturally to me as I grew up on a dairy farm in Orange County, NY. When I am not at work, I enjoy football (GO BILLS!) and spending time with my twin grandsons and furry family members.
Jen W.
Senior CSR
I started working in veterinary medicine almost 20 years ago at Noah’s Ark Veterinary Hospital in Goshen, NY. When my son was born, I took some time off, but my love of animals won out, and I returned to join the team at Hamptonburgh Animal Hospital in 2019. As a CSR, I love learning new things and love being able to pass on that knowledge by educating clients. In my free time, I love playing fetch with my Pomeranian, teaching him new tricks, and watching Yellowstone on TV.
